Hang Amit Shah: a UP common man demands

This piece was written as a retort to the "Leave Amit Shah alone: A loyal fan’s defence" by Overrated Outcast. It can be read here.

Who is this guy, Amit Shah? Comes into our peaceful, almost tranquil life & talks of such horrible words like revenge?

By the way, revenge for what? For those few people killed during riots or some rapes?

How many were killed in riots? 50? That is all? The notion of revenge for 50 deaths is laughable, indeed. That many murders, happening in a UP district, in a week, don’t even get reported to police, forget about overcoming the tyranny of distance to Delhi (100 kms is long distance, you know). Does he know that over 5000 people are murdered in UP every year? And he wants us to avenge some small issue of 50 corpses?

Does he know that hundreds die of Malaria, every month, in every district? Thousands die on the potholes riddled roads while searching for someone who can give them basic medicines. Lacs die due to water borne diseases, bathing in and drinking from same water bodies, humans & animals alike.

Does he know that 2000 women get raped in UP every year; 165 every month, five every day, one every five hours. What all does he want us to avenge?

Amit Shah is a very ignorant man.

And revenge with whom? Our beloved leaders? No way.

Poor guys take out time from their study tours abroad (yes they have to do it for our well being), wean themselves away from bollywood heroines, take time off the intensive task of managing the caste combinations (it can be very troublesome, you know), strain their tired bodies & deal weary minds, use their helicopters, planes, SUVs and come to our dirty towns so that we can see them, feel pride in walking the same ground that they walk on, breathe in the same air (though separated sometimes by the windshield) and talk to us. Though sometimes this talk is through our caste or community leaders, we know we are being discussed. It is a feeling of immense pride.

If we are able to see them from close quarters, it is like a pilgrimage for us. Touching them is as good as attaining moksha. And this guy wants us to take revenge? Blasphemy!

Only one example would be enough, even for an insensitive & inconsiderate man like Amit Shah. When an army jawan from our village was beheaded by Pakistanis, first statement from the devastated & grief stricken wife was, “I lost my husband but am happy that the peace talks our leaders are involved in are not getting affected by this incident.” Such is our devotion to our esteemed leaders & this guy talks revenge?

Amit Shah is a very inconsiderate & insensitive man.

And revenge using what? By voting? How illogical.

Here we are, asking ourselves as to what we have done for our leaders. Poor guys do everything for us, keeping us away from bad influences of so called modern facilities of electricity, water, roads, hospitals, schools and what not. And in return, what do we do other than just keeping ourselves alive and voting every five years? Precious nothing!

We also have to think of our future, the next generation, and the one after that.

Tomorrow, he would be corrupting our young with addictive ideas like development, jobs, education, prosperity and what not. No sir, we can’t permit such corrupt influence seep into our time honored culture. Did we become free for this?

Amit Shah is a threat to our idea of India and to the future of our youth. He must be hanged so that this threat is nipped in the bud.

An ordinary voter,
